Sunday Morning Church Visit – Part One

Title: Sunday Morning Church Visit – Part One
Date: 4/12/11

Note: This is a first in a series of dreams I have been given over the course of the past few years. It is my hope that you will read and carefully consider what the message of God is saying to you.

Modern Church InteriorDream: It was Sunday morning and I decided to go check out a local church to see what they were up to. My wife was surprised that I was going back there. She said she would come later. When I drove up to the facility it had been completely remodeled and was ten times larger than before. I parked in a side parking lot near an entrance so I could get in and get out without being detected. The nearest door led to an outside area which was enclosed by a tall fence. There were some teens in great number doing some kind of orchestrated dance led by the children’s pastor.

As I walked on a path that led into the main structure I came to a room with some small tables which seated five or six people. A pretty young lady, which was on the church staff, met me there and sat me down with three young men of which were 19-20 years old. The young lady snuggled up to me, putting her head on my shoulder, and said, “I miss you so much, we all miss you.” Then she pressed her cheek against mine. I didn’t respond in kind.

I noticed the three young men seated at the table all had some kind of dysfunction. I asked one of the more alert ones what was wrong with him and he just grunted something unintelligible. The young lady, who had seated me, hurried off to another room. I got up and followed her to the room. The room appeared to be designed like a lounge. It had room for many tables and had a bar the length of the right side of the room. This was the room where the faithful and long term members were seated. The three young men would go here next to once they had been approved by the young lady and the others in leadership.

I looked around the room before leaving and saw a child about twelve years old playing in a silly manner. They were teaching her this behavior so they could use her in skits and plays to lighten up the mood as they made fun of other Christians, denominations and religions. I peeked in the doorway a little further and saw a blonde headed woman seated in the middle chair of the dimly lit lounge’s bar. Her back was turned to the other people in the room. Only certain ones, which had her approval, could sit by her and the room was crowded with people waiting to be approved by her so they could sit with her. I quickly moved away from the doorway so as not to be seen.

I entered another room and saw people all standing around in a circle. One of the leaders placed ten yellow garden hoses on the ground. In the middle of each of the yellow hoses was a Y coupler.  On the left side of the Y coupler was a yellow hose which had already been attached. The left side of the Y coupler was a labeled “Separation” and the right side was labeled “Jesus”.  The object game was for each participant to disconnect the yellow hose from the left side labeled “Separation”, and reconnect it to the right side of the Y coupler labeled “Jesus”. I watched each person participating in the game make the connection with “Jesus” and each time they did the group made a loud cheer. I waited to see what they were going to do with the message of the exercise but when the last person had finished they all just walked away.

I continued to walk around and found a self-serve pizza kitchen, which was made to make the people feel warm and cozy. It had beautiful tiles and a large serving area. Then the music began in another room as the worship service started. The band entertained people while all the other people remained in their designated areas.

As I headed back towards the door I thought I had came in another man was walking out as well. It was Kevin James, the actor and comedian. I asked him if he would change my pants. He cracked up. I thought to myself, “I meet Kevin James for the first time and all can do is ask him to do is change my pants”. Then other actors began to come out the same door. Then I realized that I had come out a different exit from where I had parked. I went back in and walked around trying to find the door that I came in. I searched for some time before I finally found the door I was looking for. They had intentionally by design made it difficult, confusing, and misleading to exit their church. I knew I had to go home and warn my wife not to come here. It is an evil place.

Meaningless Activities

In a dream, a parking lot is a place of arrival or exit. In this case I was arriving to see what was going on in this particular church. I parked near the most accessible entrance not for the convenience of entering as much as to make a quick exit.  The teens were doing an orchestrated dance being led by the children’s pastor. It struck me that the teens were being led by the children’s pastor. The teens should be growing up but they were being treated as six year old children. Everything activity was a pre-planed, orchestrated as an activity, with no room for Holy Spirit to lead believers by the Spirit.

The Room

Round Table and Chairs in Conference RoomThe first room I entered was the room for new members. They were seated at the table by a designated staff member. She was the “Groomer”. Her job was to monitor their attendance, provide them with orientation in their church rules, learn their dysfunctions, and prepare them to serve the needs of the church and direct them in doing so. This was standard operating procedure for everyone that wanted to become a member. No one who wanted to be a part of the fellowship could bypass their orientation. If a person wanted more responsibility and access to higher up leadership, the young lady first had to approve of them herself and report their progress back to the pastors. Every person’s faithfulness was measured as to how well they served in the church system. She used flirtation and sweet talk to hook these young men into doing what she needed them to do for the church.  No one dared say “No” to her or anyone in leadership. They could make it difficult for you.

Each young man had a dysfunction, which would be discovered and then passed onto the blonde headed woman.  People who have yielded to the Jezebel spirit will do all they can to discover a person dysfunctions in order to manipulate them to her needs. She will show her sweet, confidential side to gain their trust in her discovery process. She is a master manipulator, especially over men.

The Young Girl

The young child was cute and very popular within the fellowship. She was called upon at times to make fun of the perceived less spiritual people in other denominations. It was clever to employ a child in  a humorous way to make themselves feel better about their spirituality.

The Blonde Woman

The blonde headed woman represents Jezebel. The name Jezebel means “unhusbanded”. She loves to clone and create spiritual children to follow her in her idolatries. She sat in the dark room, hidden, with her back turned to the people. She doesn’t care about anyone but herself. She chooses to surround herself with dysfunctional people, even more than she is, because they can easily be manipulated to do her bidding. She rules this church from behind the scenes, especially the pastor and other staff members. She has everyone in the church monitoring ever other person in the church without them really knowing her scheme. All her conversations are to glean more information about what the members are saying and doing. With this kind of information she can maintain her hidden power position by detecting any perceived threats. Anyone who disagrees with her will be dealt with swiftly and with severity. That’s the way she keeps the pulse in her kingdom.

Wherever Jezebel rules in a church she will seek out the weak ones and use their dysfunctions to control them. She disguises her efforts behind an insincere compassion when trying to help them, but she is incapable of helping anyone but herself.  All her attempts to help a person will do more harm than good as she is a destructive counselor to all she ministers too.

The Yellow Hose

The game with the Y coupler and the yellow hose came across as shallow and insincere. It showed the ineffectiveness of game play in the churches today.  It was a fun activity but that was all it was. Although the kids made a natural connection they didn’t seem to make a spiritual connection to God at all. The presence of Holy Spirit inspired teaching was missing from the exercise. It was sad to watch the kids walk away without grasping the message of making the connection with Jesus is to build a life long relationship with Him and that requires they seek Him in their dedicated prayer time.

Self-Serve Pizza Kitchen

The self-serve pizza bar speaks of several things. The churches today are iconic symbols of self-worship. Most churches fine tune their message so as not to offend anyone. They want the attendees to feel warm and comfortable. For the church to stay open it requires money and people have money.  Almost everyone attending is self-serving in some form or fashion if they would be honest with themselves and God.  The concept of promoting a personal relationship with Jesus Christ isn’t at the heart of most churches today. It’s not mentioned, taught, nor is it encouraged by the majority of religions. The essence of Jesus Christ has been hijacked by man’s religion. With every breath and action, the members are deceptively taught that committing to the church (organization) is the same as committing to Christ. That giving tithe to it is the same as giving to Christ. This is evil, dangerous and propagates spiritual adultery. The leadership perpetuates this message to keep, control and feed off God’s sheep.

Today, when the word “Church” is spoken people automatically think of a building. Many churches, like a harlot, offer something for everyone. The harlot church says, “Come, you can have whatever you want here. There’s no better place to be.  We have the best there is. It will cost you nothing.”  (Read the blog: The Enticement)

In the thing called “Church” a person can have prominence, validation, identity, self-worth, self-confidence, self-righteousness and influence, etc. However, Zion isn’t an organization; it is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Zion is made up of believers who worship the Living God in Spirit and Truth. These are the ones who are the bride of Christ.

The Band

Some churches use church worship teams as a tool to attract (entice) people to come and to keep them once they do. The better the band the better most people will like the church services. I have heard many church attendees say, “I only come here for the music.” Building big worship teams has been a trend in the churches around the world for many years now. Just as the palm trees competed with one another in the blog, “The Enticement”, some churches compete with one another with their worship teams. There’s a difference between being entertained and tapping into a pure worshipful praise of our Lord Jesus Christ. I believe in the minstrel gifts and that most worship team members are faithful to their gift and love to worship the Lord.

Playing or singing can become a form of self-serving if the person is doing it for the wrong reasons. Just because you like to do something isn’t enough of a reason to do it. Each ministry gift has to be continually submitted to the leadership of the Lord. In Matthew 7:21-23, Jesus warned the ministers who had performed miracles, cast out demons and prophesied in His name, that He never knew them. He said to depart from Him and sentenced them to eternal darkness. I believe these ministers were victims of the church system and never developed a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. They knew the actions of a minister, the theology and did great things as they made a name for themselves, but they never had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

exit sign smlIn the dream as I tried to leave the church but discovered they had purposely designed it to be difficult. The exits were hard to find, much like a big, multi-level mall is designed. They get the shoppers in but make it difficult to find the original point of entry. When a person enters a (joined) church they make you feel warm, welcomed and accepted. However, the acceptance will last as just long as you tithe, attend as many of their activities as possible, agree to everything leadership says and believes. There is zero tolerance for critiques of the church. Anyone, who questions the leadership is quickly singled out as a dissenter and labeled as a person to be watched more closely.

Often people who want to leave are given the suggestion by the pastor that bad things are going to happen to them if they leave the covering of the church.  Phrases like, “The wheels are going to fall off!”, “Don’t leave your assignment!” or “You’ll lose your covering!” are an attempt to frighten people to stay.  It is a form of control and just like the dream showed it’s not easy to get out of the thing called church.  If they can’t control you then they automatically begin to try to destroy and defame the person.

All the love they showed you was really fake love as it was based on acceptance based on performance to their standards. It’s love with a hook.  They will love you as long as you belong to their church, but once a person exits they become all but unknown to their former church members.  The Amish are known for the use of shunning to punish people who don’t comply with their doctrines. However, most other religions also employ shunning as well.

 Actors (Pretenders)

As I walked out he was walking out the exit Kevin James, which is a very popular actor and comedian was walking out as well along with many other actors. The biggest role most people will ever star in occurs when they attend a church. Just about everyone puts on their best face as they pretend to be enjoying themselves so others won’t think they’re not living a great victorious Christian life. The church is filled with actors (pretenders) which aren’t truly interested in taking up their cross and following Jesus Christ. They are happy to attend and enjoy the social aspects of the church and all the things it offers but to do they have a pure commitment to Christ? That is the question. Anyone seeking Truth will find it. I heard the Lord say some time ago, “My bride comes not so much from the church (system) as from the world.”

“For Your lovingkindness is before my eyes, And I have walked in Your truth. I do not sit with deceitful men, Nor will I go with pretenders (actors). I hate the assembly of evildoers, And I will not sit with the wicked.Ps. 26:3-5

The greatest deception ever placed upon mankind is the church system of which man has created. It is a counterfeit and a spiritually dangerous place to be. It has caused millions to commit spiritual adultery by demanding commitment and allegiance to it (the church system) instead pointing them to Jesus Christ. Instead of promoting Jesus Christ the person, it entangles people into legalism, dead works as it manipulates them to do what the leadership wants done.

Any self-worship (doing things for self) is fleshly and not of God. If it isn’t of God then it is demonically influenced in some way or another. Jezebel used sedcution and deception to ascend to a position of power. She loves to play the role of the prophetess and have a following of loyal subjects willing to support her in her idolatry.

Believers this is a serious matter to the living God as recorded in the following verses.

‘I know your deeds, and your love and faith and service and perseverance, and that your deeds of late are greater than at first. ‘But I have this against you, that you tolerate the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, and she teaches and leads My bond-servants astray so that they commit acts of immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. ‘I gave her time to repent, and she does not want to repent of her immorality. ‘Behold, I will throw her on a bed of sickness, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of her deeds. ‘And I will kill her children with pestilence, and all the churches will know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts; and I will give to each one of you according to your deeds.” Rev 2:19-23

Someone once quoted, “The institutional church has killed two kinds of people: Those who do not believe in the teachings of Jesus Christ, and those who do.

You certainly will find this critique of the church system troubling if you are reliant upon it for your livelihood, status, identity, validation or security but the Spirit of the Lord says, “COME”.

Time is short and Christ is calling His bride unto Him. Will you heed His call are continue on the course you are on? It’s not easy for a person to leave what has been ingrained into their mind for so many years. Let Christ lead you to the Truth. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you and you will find a beautiful walk in the freedom of Christ.

The five foolish virgins are made up of the church goers who do nothing more than maintain a general form of religion but deny the power. They spend no time building a personal relationship with the Lord and thus no oil or flask to carry the sustaining oil. Don’t continue be foolish, but go to the living God and ask Him if what I have written here is true. Read the scriptures carefully asking God to illuninate the true meaning to your spirit.

“Therefore, COME OUT FROM THEIR MIDST AND BE SEPARATE,” says the Lord. “AND DO NOT TOUCH WHAT IS UNCLEAN; And I will welcome you. 2 Cor. 6:17

If you ask, seek, and knock the door will be opened to you. Seek the truth and He will reveal it to you.

After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illumined with his glory. And he cried out with a mighty voice, saying, ” Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! She has become a dwelling place of demons and a prison of every unclean spirit, and a prison of every unclean and hateful bird. “For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the passion of her immorality, and the kings of the earth have committed acts of immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich by the wealth of her sensuality.”I heard another voice from heaven, saying, “Come out of her, my people, so that you will not participate in her sins and receive of her plagues; for her sins have piled up as high as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities. The Additions

    Journal Entry: Dream

    Title: The Additions

    Date: 1/3/11

Ithe additonsn the dream, I had a revelatory teaching the Lord had given me to share with a particular church; however, I knew they would reject hearing it from me since it went against their traditions. The photos in this article are a perfect example of the dream The Additions.

An older lady down the street owned a huge building which she was going to renovate and appointed me to oversee the project. The structure had many levels and additions added over the course of many years. The lady instructed me that everything that wasn’t in the original plan was to be torn away from the structure so it could be seen in its original design.

The crew started at the top of the building working their way down. The many additions over time had made the structure very unappealing to the eye and hindered its flow and function. It was now obvious that the additions were added by people that didn’t understand the original design or the concepts of the architect.

As the additions were torn away, people began to come to the construction site and declare how beautiful the original design truly was. One lady said she had no idea that such a beautiful structure had been hidden from us for all these years. I said, “It’s beautiful, look at how the original architect designed the structure with was such simplicity and beauty.  This has been hidden from the world for so long.”

Construction debris was piled up high all around the structure making it difficult to walk around.  The building was dark inside due to the additions that had sealed up the windows which were in the original design. The only light that penetrated into the building came from the front and rear doors which were just recently opened.

Suddenly, a frightened sheep appeared out of a dark hallway and apparently it had been trapped in the structure for a long time. The sheep stood there in the darkness of the room, only being illuminated by the light, which poured into the room from the front door. The sheep wanted to escape to the light but I was standing in its path.  I stepped aside and the sheep run past me as fast as it could go disappearing out the front doorway.

    End of Journal Entry –

    Dream Interpretation

church crowdThe lady who hired me to supervise the demolition of the structure represents Holy Spirit. All the additions are things that man has added to Christ’s message and Paul’s gospel since the inception of Christianity. The beauty of the original framing of the true gospel message and the walk in Christ has long been covered up by the works of man.  Regardless, if it was driven by good intentions or by ego, for power and control, or to influence and appear successful, it has taken away from the beauty of Christianity, not added to it.

There is a longing for the real thing. The real thing which is Truth can’t be found in words. Although, words may be true they are not the Truth. The Truth is a person and his name is Jesus Christ. Real truth is found in a relationship with the Truth which is Jesus Christ.

No matter how many additions are added to an original structure they will only mask the original structure, not reveal it. Today’s church system today is represented by all the additions that obstruct the function and flow of Christ’s people.

I won’t soon forget the look on the lady’s face when she saw the beauty of the original design for the first time. Would the early believers recognize today’s form of Christianity? I think not! What if we could see it for ourselves?

You may read this and wonder what are the additions that have been added to Christianity? I could list many here but I don’t want to appear mean spirited. It’s safe to say that just about everything you see as the organized church today was instituted by Christ, especially the clergy system that dominates the people. The only way believers will discover the additions which were added by man will be to seek Jesus Christ for the sole purpose of knowing Him in an intimate relationship and in time He will reveal Himself clearly to you and what is real worship.  It’s time for believers to humble ourselves, get before the Lord and truly seek Him for the sole purpose of loving Him. Christ is coming back for a bride that is without spot, wrinkle or blemish.

    Five Questions:

A few months ago I was given an audience with the Lord.  I quickly grabbed my tablet and went into a room and closed the door.  I asked Him these five questions.

Q1. Why don’t some churches grow?
A1. Because they want it to grow.

    Q2. What’s wrong with that?
A2. It’s their vision not Mine.

Q3. But didn’t the early church grow and increase?
    A3. As I added members.

Q4. Why then do some churches grow and others don’t?
A4. It’s not about growth. It’s about the Kingdom. Each church has a different assignment and the motives behind the pulpit must be 100% for My things and not things, not numbers, or anything man can say, “This is a successful ministry because of a building or pews filled”. What are they doing with the people in the pews, warehousing them? Corralling them as their sheep to control while they feed themselves and starve My sheep? It is not My way and a day of judgment awaits for those evil, sluggard, selfish shepherds.

Q5. How does leadership change their mind set?
A5. Give up control to Me. Find their true place in My heart and allow My heart to reign in their lives.

The message is clear. We must strip away all that is of man and return back to your first love. After all that is the message written to the churches in Revelation. If you truly want to promote the Kingdom then there needs to be changes made and the changes will begin on your knees before the Lord. Much has been done in His name that isn’t of God at all. Many things have been added to the simple Christian faith that isn’t of God at all. If you are going to walk with Him now is the time to take inventory of your motives, ego, doctrine and motivations and be truthful with God. Adk God to show you The Additions!

    Scripture References:

“To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: The Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the  Beginning of the creation of God, says this: ‘I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or hot. ‘So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth. ‘Because you say, “I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing,” and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked, I advise you to buy from Me gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness will not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see. ‘Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent. ‘Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. ‘He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. ‘He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.'” Rev. 3: 14-22

The key to knowing and following Christ is found in this verse: “And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death. Rev. 12:11

  • When Religion Makes Us Mean

The Pharisees and some of the scribes gathered around Him when they had come from Jerusalem, and had seen that some of His disciples were eating their bread with impure hands, that is, unwashed. Mark 7:1-2

When the Pharisees saw this, they said to His disciples, “Why is your Teacher eating with the tax collectors and sinners?” Matt. 9:11

And a man was there whose hand was withered. And they questioned Jesus, asking, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”—so that they might accuse Him.  Mat. 12:10

Below came from an unknown source. I haven’t been able to trace the author of the writing but wanted others to read it and be blessed as I was.

Pointing FingerReligion is a powerful influence in human life but its effect varies widely. It does different things to different people. Take, for example, Saint Francis. While still a young man, he renounced his claim to a family fortune and took vows of poverty that he might serve the poor. But he is remembered as a happy man. One of his biographers said: “While other worked at sainthood, Francis played at it.” He preached to the birds and the animals. He sang to the moon and the sun. His name has become synonymous with love and kindness and generosity.

A couple of hundred years later, in Spain, we encounter a totally different kind of man. His name was Torquemada. He was the inquisitor-general of the country. His job was to track down and root out heresy. And he was good at it. In just a few years, more than two-thousand heretics were put to death.

Torquemada was a deeply religious man. But the World Book Encyclopedia says of him: “To this day, his name is often used to stand for wanton cruelty.” Two separate lives, as different as night and day. One was gentle and kind. The other was harsh and cruel. And each of them was shaped by religion.

We see the same contrast in today’s Gospel. Jesus is warm and loving. His first concern is for human needs and how to meet them.  The Pharisees are harsh and rigid. Their chief concern is keeping the Sabbath day and seeking to it that others do the same. If the disciples go hungry and a man with a deformed hand is unhealed, so be it.  The important thing is that the Sabbath not be violated.  If this requires people to suffer needlessly, then they will just have to suffer.

That is clearly mean-spirited attitude. And it was motivated by a deep religious devotion.

The worst thing about this kind of meanness is that we almost never know that we are mean.

religion & meanessI can assure you that those Pharisees did not think of themselves as mean. That was the farthest thought from their minds. They regarded themselves as defenders of the faith.  They were the advocates of civic righteousness.  The observance of this commandment had bonded them together and kept them distinct throughout their exile in Babylon.  To give it up would be a denial of their history and heritage. So these Pharisees saw themselves, not as mean people, but as patriots.  They were defenders of the faith and champions of the nations.

That sounds noble, but it is a dangerous thing. It is always dangerous when causes become more important than people. From there it is but one short step to cruelty. And the bad part of it is we do not even know that we are cruel.  The Spanish inquisitor, Torquemada, has been dead for centuries. But if he could come back today, he would be astounded to know that his name has become a synonym for cruelty.  When he killed all those heretics, he was not being mean.  He was just a true believer, defending the faith of the church.

We can see this contradiction in others.  It is much difficult to see it in ourselves.  We can rationalize almost anything to put ourselves in favorable light.  Others may be cruel.  But we are simply doing what has to be done for the good of the cause.  Every mean-spirited person who ever lived has rationalized his deeds with some such argument.  In matter of religion, we can be mean and not even know it, because we call it something else.

Consider one other thought: When religion makes us mean, it is an indication of confused values.

We are making something more important that it really is. And we are making people less important that they really are.  This was clearly the case with the Pharisees in today’s Gospel. They may have cared that the disciples needed food.  They may have cared that the man had a withered hand.  But they were more concerned that the Sabbath be kept inviolate.  It was all a question of priorities.  Which are more important, real people and their real needs or the proper observance of a holy day? Jesus came down on the side of human need.  The Pharisees were more concerned with guarding the Sabbath and keeping it prim and proper.

You and I have to take a position in that dispute.  We must align ourselves, either with Jesus, or the Pharisees.  Our point of contention will no longer be the Sabbath.  We have moved on to other concerns.  It may be some political positions, or some financial objective.  But if we regard anything as more sacred than people, we will end up doing something mean.  And we will do it in the name of righteousness.  We will convince ourselves that God is on our side and  my friends that is a mistaken conclusion.  Nothing could be further from the truth.

The God that has been revealed in Christ is wholeheartedly dedicated to one thing – real people and their real needs.  They are more important to him than sacred days, or sacred books, or sacred sites, or sacred anythings.

The New Testament makes it clear that one thing was supremely sacred to Jesus.  And that one was a person, any person and every person.  When religion makes us mean to people, we can be sure of this: It is not the religion of Jesus.

  • Escape From Babylon

    Journal Entry: Dream-Escape From Babylon

    Date: 1-10-2010 – 3:30 AM

I saw a man sitting in a chair looking despondent when suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared before him. The man asked, “What are you here for?” The angel responded, “I am here to deliver you from the spirit of Babylon.”

in prisonThe angel took the man by the hand and immediately they began to soar vertically at a high rate of speed into the air. I could hear demons moaning and shrieking as the angel carried the man upward while ascending through level after level of the demonic Babylonian kingdom.

As they climbed higher and higher I saw what appeared to be the top of a large dome made of reinforced concrete. The dome had rows of elongated slots which came to a point on the ends making the structure incredibly strong and prison-like. Each slot was filled with darkness and it was an impossible barrier to escape from- without the power of the angel to deliver the man. I heard the man say, “I didn’t even know I was in prison.”  Then the dream ended.

I believe the man in the dream represented me being delivered from the religious system.

    -End Journal Entry-

What spirit did the angel come to deliver the man from? It was the spirit of Babylon. The spirit of Babylon is the spirit which rules the world and the church system today. This includes all forms of religions which are made up of countless doctrines, creeds, separatism, denominations and non-denominational churches alike.

The word church in the Greek word ekklesia which basically means called out ones. It isn’t a church building, it’s believers in Christ.

The Babylon spirit is carnal mindedness and all that it can divise. The Babylon spirit displays haughtiness, arrogance and the pride of man’s knowledge above God’s knowledge and wisdom. Spiritual Babylon long ago hijacked Christ’s gospel replacing it with the “institutional, organized” church system.

Ignatius was the third pastor of Antioch (110 A.D) who apparently served under apostle John . Ingatius installed his own believe’s in an attempt to prevent heresies of Gnosticism and Docetism. By doing so Inatius established the Clergy system. He wrote: “Follow your bishop, every one of you, as obediently as Jesus Christ followed the Father. Obey your Clergy too, as you would Apostles; give your deacons the same reverence that you would to a command from God. Make sure no step affecting the Church is ever taken by anyone without the bishop’s sanction. The sole Eucharist you should consider valid is one that is celebrated by the bishop himself, or by some person authorized by him. Where the bishop is to be seen, there let all his people be; just as wherever Jesus Christ is present, we have the Catholic Church. Nor is it permissable to conduct baptism or the Eucharist without the bishop. On the other hand, whatever does have this sanction can be sure of God’s approval too. This is the way to make certain of soundness and validity of anything you do.”

In the church system people feel safe, sufficient, significant, assured, justified and secure. It gives forth to self-serving, status, position, reputation, security and identity to many all the while the institution itself grows in its power and importance. Many people depend on the church system for their livelihood, significance, preeminence, validation, power and recognition. The man in the dream was imprisoned by the system and didn’t even know it. This is the way millions of God-loving saints are today. They are imprisoned in a church system of man’s making and do not even realize it.

In fact, I find the comparison of prison and the church system very astute. Prison inmates are under the control of the warden’s rules and regulations just like the many people in the pews today are under the control of leadership’s rules and regulations of man’s own making. There is no freedom for the congregation in the church system today, just like there is no freedom for an inmate in prison. A prisoner doesn’t get to do anything unless someone “lets” him do it. I have heard leadership say, “let the people do this or let them do that.” The word “let” truly indicates control of the congregation and this shouldn’t be! If someone stays in prison long enough they become institutionalized. The same thing happens to people in the church system if they stay in it long enough. They become institutionalized or indoctrinated to what that particular church system believes.

I have watched the church system for sometime now with all of its organization, orchestration, formats which restrain the free flowing leading of Holy Spirit. However, I have upon a few occasions seen Holy Spirit move within in the confines of a man inspired church system. I had to know from God why Holy Spirit moves when He does.

Stake in the sandHoly Spirit showed me a picture of a stake driven into the sand high up on a beach. There is was, a lone stake driven in the sand, far away from the surf. The stake represents the church system beliefs, what it is about, its creed, denomination, faith statement, doctrine, identity, etc.  Then I was shown a picture of the ebb and tide of the ocean. The tide comes in and the tide goes back out, this cycle is repeated daily. Occasionally the surf is so stirred that the waves come up far enough to reach the stake only to eventually recede back out to sea.  The Lord said, “I move upon my people like this in their personal time and occasionally during a meeting to soak them in My presence and to draw them unto Me, to teach them to follow after the ebb and tide of My Spirit. When I move on a congregation, I am not validating the church system as the religious think. I want to draw people out of it and unto Me, I want them to learn to follow the ebb and tide of My Spirit.”

scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.” Gen 11:3-5 NAS

When meditating about the dream of the angel delivering the man from Babylon, I asked the Lord if He had a scriptural example of what I had seen in the dream and immediately I was reminded of when Peter was in prison and the angel of the Lord appeared to deliver him. Once Peter was delivered from prison, he went to his fellowship made up of the people praying for him. What spirit was behind the imprisonment of Peter? Could the answer be the spirit of Babylon? Most certainly because the Babylonian spirit operates through the flesh (carnal man) and wants approval from man! Herod demonstrated both in Acts 12:1-3.

Observe the spirit of Babylon in operation in this verse:

“Now about that time Herod the king laid hands on some who belonged to the church (GK. ekklesia means “called out ones”), in order to mistreat them.  And he had James the brother of John put to death with a sword.  And when he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to arrest Peter also.” Acts 12:1-3 NAS

“For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.” Rom 8:14-15 NAS

When I heard the Lord say to me a few months ago, “My bride comes not so much from the church as from the world,” I was somewhat taken back by this statement as to what He meant. I didn’t understand then what has now been made so clear to me now after much prayer, study and revelations.

The reason the bride must come out from the institutional church system is that the church system is incapable of preparing the bride of Christ. It can only institutionalize its congregants to be dependant upon the church system. In fact its interest is truly to grow the institution’s power and influence and not grow the people. In a recent Barna Group survey, 9 out of 10 pastors were surveyed and said that the church (system) was full of babies. However, each pastor commented that they had no babies in their own congregation.

The Babylonian spirit is a spirit that sets out to extinguish faith with false doctrine which leads man into works. For when faith dies there is no faith which leads people to ascend to God in their own way. It disrupts the plan and purposes of God by its influence of a non-God spirit.

The Babylonian spirit influences ministries to do works such as, let us build, let us make a name for ourselves, let us do great projects, let us be like God. It replaces the faith with works and does not follow nor seek the leading or direction of Holy Spirit.

escapeThe spirit of Babylon is found in the story of the Tower of Babel. “ And they said, “Come, let us build for ourselves a city, and a tower whose top will reach into heaven, and let us make for ourselves a name; lest we be

“So Peter was kept in the prison, but prayer for him was being made fervently by the church to God.  And on the very night when Herod was about to bring him forward, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains; and guards in front of the door were watching over the prison.  And behold, an angel of the Lord suddenly appeared, and a light shone in the cell; and he struck Peter’s side and roused him, saying, “Get up quickly.” And his chains fell off his hands.  And the angel said to him, “Gird yourself and put on your sandals.” And he did so. And he said to him, “Wrap your cloak around you and follow me.”  And he went out and continued to follow, and he did not know that what was being done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision.  And when they had passed the first and second guard, they came to the iron gate that leads into the city, which opened for them by itself; and they went out and went along one street; and immediately the angel departed from him.  And when Peter came to himself, he said, “Now I know for sure that the Lord has sent forth His angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod and from all that the Jewish people were expecting.”  And when he realized this, he went to the house of Mary, the mother of John who was also called Mark, where many were gathered together and were praying.” Acts 12:5-12 NAS

Unlike the dream, Peter knew he was in prison but the man in the dream didn’t realize his imprisonment. Not knowing one is in prison is a far greater plight to a person because he is blind to his real circumstance.

brokenIt you are within the confines of the church system you need to stop and take “inventory” and weigh truthfully what has been written here before God and trust Him to show you truth. God has appointed some to work within in the confines of the church system for a season only for reasons known to God and the believer. Perhaps it is to observe and learn up close and personal what the church system is really about. My heart is for the people to be delivered from the prison of the church system and to be brought into a personal and intimate relationship in Jesus Christ.

“And as for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him.” 1 John 2:27-28 NAS

Bringing the bride of Christ out of the church system can only be done by the Spirit of the Lord because the church system is a stronghold in her mind through years of indoctrination. God has to take the church system out of the bride before she can ever be free and be presented to Christ as His bride.

By the revelation of the Lord, we are in the time in which the focus of the Lord is to “prepare” His bride. That’s it! Most in leadership of the church system won’t recognize the paradigm shift that has occurred in the Spirit, thus they will continue on in the confines of the system. As in the first century, the existing religious system (Pharisees, Sadducees, etc) didn’t recognize the time of the Lord’s visitation and so shall it be now.

The dream is a continuing theme which Holy Spirit keeps giving me to warn those who will listen and heed the warning of the committing adultery with the spirit of Babylon (church system). Scripture References:

“ And when He approached, He saw the city and wept over it,  saying, “If you had known in this day, even you, the things which make for peace! But now they have been hidden from your eyes.  “For the days shall come upon you when your enemies will throw up a bank before you, and surround you, and hem you in on every side,  and will level you to the ground and your children within you, and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation.

And He entered the temple and began to cast out those who were selling,  saying to them, “It is written, ‘And My house shall be a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a robbers’ den.’

And He was teaching daily in the temple; but the chief priests and the scribes and the leading men among the people were trying to destroy Him,  and they could not find anything that they might do, for all the people were hanging upon His words”. Luke 19:41-48 NAS

“And another angel, a second one, followed, saying, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, she who has made all the nations drink of the wine of the passion of her immorality.” Rev 14:8 NAS

“And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, “Come out of her, my people, that you may not participate in her sins and that you may not receive of her plagues;  for her sins have piled up as high as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.” Rev 18:4-5 NAS
