To Be With Him

Dream: Just To Be With Him

kitty quiet time smlI was driving down the hi-way and was half-way between two small towns. I pulled my vehicle off to the side of the road onto the grass and got out. I walked to the rear of the vehicle and saw my cat (named Kitty) who is a dear family member.  She apparently had walked fifteen miles to get where I had stopped my vehicle. At first I didn’t like it that she had left her safe home until I realized how much she just wanted to be with me which was displayed by the great effort it took to come be with me. I picked her up in my arms and put her in the front passenger seat. She sat up tall and gleamed with joy because she was with me and I was very happy to be with her as well.

Then the scene in the dream changed and I was sitting in the front passenger seat of my natural father’s vehicle. I always loved being with him although he didn’t speak that much to me. I was just so happy to be with him as he steered the vehicle onto a side road to show me things he found interesting. I looked over at him as he rode with his elbow sticking out the window and he pointed out things he wanted to show me; I loved every minute of it. Somehow, I knew he enjoyed it as much as I did.

End of Dream:

Meaning of dream:

The dream is about how our heavenly Father loves for us to come to be with Him.  As much as I was touched by the effort my cat made to be with me, so does our heavenly Father appreciate our effort to be with Him. The thrill I felt when I realized that my cat risked everything by coming so far to be with me melted my heart. She gave up her safety, comfort, resources and family to follow me; I was so touched. The Lord impressed upon me that this is how He feels when His children come just to be with Him in fellowship.  He loves us being with Him and looks for those who will come spend time with Him. Few will make the effort but those who do are greatly rewarded.

Many times when I have been before the Lord I experienced the supernatural things of God which would not have happened if I hadn’t disciplined myself to spend intimate time with Him. Many people are seeking the supernatural of God but aren’t seeking Him for Him alone.

I can remember just sitting in the same room with my natural father just because I wanted to be with him. I wasn’t necessarily expecting anything from him each time but when he did open up and share mysteries of his life it made me want to know him all the more.

Our heavenly Father is much like that in regard to wanting us to be with Him and if He chooses to open up, you will want to keep coming back time and time again to be with Him, wanting to know Him all the more.

I promise you if you will make the effort to be with Him in a steadfast, faithful manner, He will reveal Himself at a time of His choosing. After all He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

“And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.” Heb 11:6

Jesus taught it is necessary to deny ourselves and follow Him which is key to knowing the things of God. He also declared that we will be known by our fruit.

priest praying“A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit.” “Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.”So then, you will know them by their fruits. “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many  miracles?’ “And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’ Mat 7:18-23

How do you get to know someone? You spend time with them as often as you can. You exchange thoughts and learn about one another. Over a period of time you build a relationship that truly is wonderful and unique. We hear how it is important to know God and most take that to mean read the Bible and learn about Him but that is only part of the equation. Jesus makes it clear in Matthew 7 verse 23 that he will declare to them, “I never knew you”.

I can read about the president of the country but that doesn’t mean I know him. I only know about him. However, if I spend time visiting with him, eventually I can say I know him and he knows me.

Relationship is the one thing that is threaded into God’s word from Genesis to Revelation. From the beginning of man in the Garden up to now God is looking for people who want to know Him in a true relationship. That is what it is about…RELATIONSHIP! When the Lord showed me Mat 7:18-23 some years ago and what He would do with those who use Him to self-promote their ministry I heard Him clearly say to me, “It’s about RELATIONSHIP”! I have kept true to that revelation ever since no matter what I’m going through I go through it in a pure relationship with my Lord.

I believe relationship is the one key thing that is missing in the messages preached today. Relationship is the true foundation of walking with God and being pleasing in His sight. In a few verses just after Jesus said, “I never knew you” He teaches about building your house on the rock so you can stand when the floods come and they will come.

Relationship goes beyond just knowing the scriptures because He is the incarnate Word. Just knowing the Word won’t keep you from perishing in Hell but being known intimately of God will. If you read the book by Mary K. Baxter, “A Divine Revelation of Hell” you will never be the same person again. You will be amazed at the revelation which she brings from her journeys there and how many lost souls speak scriptures in the flames of their torment. You can search the Internet and find the book, audio or soft copy version. The Start of Audio version: Part 1 of 14.

Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.” Mat. 16:24

And He summoned the crowd with His disciples, and said to them, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.” MK 8:34

relationshipAnd He said to another, “Follow Me.” But he said, “Lord, permit me first to go and bury my father.” But He said to him, “Allow the dead to bury their own dead; but as for you, go and proclaim everywhere the kingdom of God.” Another also said, “I will follow You, Lord; but first permit me to say good-bye to those at home.” But Jesus said to him, “No one, after putting his hand to the plow and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:59-62

Jesus spoke about the sower of the seed and how the devil would come to steal the Word of God from the heart. The rocky ground is where the roots of the seed couldn’t go down deep enough to survive the heat and dry climate and the thorns which grew up to choke out the plant representing the cares of the world.

We live in a busy world and have things on our plate but we must make time to be with the Father. It is the key vital part that is missing in most Christians walk. Many people try to substitute attending church as being with the Father but that isn’t the same. Is being in a public meeting with your spouse the same as being alone with them in an intimate setting?  Of course not and neither is your public display intimate time with the Father. It can be part of your walk but God never intended it to replace time alone with Him.

He wants us to come and desires it more than we know. Think about how you feel when your spouse, kids, dear friends or pets come to you just to be with you and how that makes you feel. Now imagine how the Father feels when you come to be with Him for no other reason than you just want to spend time together. Relationship is the true foundation of the believers walk and truly isn’t an option with God. Think about that statement for a second. If you want the things of God you have to be known of God and that requires a relationship with Him.

I hope you will make the necessary changes to your walk and make relationship with Him a priority. It will forever change you!

Be Blessed In a Fruitful Relationship with Him,

Bro. Bill

  • Elisha Followed Elijah to Capture His Anointing

“So he departed from there and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, while he was plowing with twelve pairs {of oxen} before him, and he with the twelfth. And Elijah passed over to him and threw his mantle on him. He left the oxen and ran after Elijah and said, “Please let me kiss my father and my mother, then I will follow you.” And he said to him, “Go back again, for what have I done to you?” So he returned from following him, and took the pair of oxen and sacrificed them and boiled their flesh with the implements of the oxen, and gave {it} to the people and they ate. Then he arose and followed Elijah and ministered to him.” 1 Ki. 19:19-21.

fieldElisha demonstrated his desire to go forth and carry that mantle, so he went and slaughtered his oxen, broke up his plow, made a fire and offered up his oxen to the Lord as a sacrifice.  The sacrifice he was making was more than just burning the oxen and the plow! That oxen and plow were his way of making a living, it was his way to feeding himself and his family. It was his job and his identity and Elisha demonstrated that he was willing to give it all up to follow Elijah the man of God, in order to take hold of the mantel and capture his anointing.  Elisha was going to follow Elijah because he trusted God to take care of him even if it meant losing his source of income and leaving his home behind.

Here is what Holy Spirit revealed to me today. I did the same thing when an angel appeared to me in a dream in June of 2005. The angel said, “It’s time to go!” I said, “Am I being fired?” The angel said, “It’s time to go!” I said, “What about all my stuff?” He said, “You don’t need that anymore.” I got up from my desk, walked down a long hallway with the angel walking along to my left.  I was staring at the blazer the angel was carrying knowing it represented a mantel and realized, the only way to take hold of the mantel was to be obedient to the call of God, to quit my job and to follow Him.

My wife and I have done just as Elisha did. Elisha took the pair of oxen, sacrificed them, boiled their flesh with the implements of the plow, and fed the meat to the people. The he arose and followed Elijah and ministered to him. My wife and I have let go of our livelihood by sacrificing our jobs and careers, our income, our identity, our home, our friends, our church and our city to follow the call of God.  It sounds easy when we read about Elisha doing this, but try putting yourself in his sandals for a minute. When you’ve been established in a career for a number of years, you’re salary far exceeds your needs, you live in a beautiful home, have new cars, nice clothes and then one day you’re told by God to give it all up and follow God into the unknown, what then?!

And He summoned the crowd with His disciples, and said to them, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it.” Mat. 8:34-35

The disciples gave up their livelihood to follow Jesus. Peter gave up his fishing business, Matthew his tax collector position and they questioned Jesus.  “Peter began to say to Him, “Behold, we have left everything and followed You.” Jesus said, “Truly I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or farms, for My sake and for the gospel’s sake, but that he will receive a hundred times as much now in the present age, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and farms, along with persecutions; and in the age to come, eternal life.” Mat. 10:28-30

Several years ago, we did as Elisha, we sacrificed our livelihood upon the Holy altar of God saying, “We desire the things of God more than the things of this world and we trust You to take care of us!” That makes me all the more certain that God will provide for us because we are willing to follow Him and His plan for our lives.

My wife and I both sensed in the Spirit that a “move” was coming. We had entries in our journals and God was showing us the location we would move and the house we would live in long before the word came for us to actually quit our jobs and to follow Him. My wife saw the move coming before I did but she ask God to show me as well, which is wisdom. She patiently waited for God to reveal the plan to me without hinting or saying a word about her revelation. She trusted God to show me as well then we would both be on the same page. This is vital for a successful move in God’s plan.

elijahI began seeing in the first of the year in 2003 but didn’t get the release from God to quit my job until June of the same year when the angel came in the dream. We were also in close consultation with the Pastors of the church in the city were we knew God was appointing us live and to attend church. God had led them through a similar move years prior to ours. They would caution us by saying, “Just be certain that you have heard God.”  When, and only when we knew beyond any doubt, did we resign from our positions and move.

If you’re going to yoke up with a minister of God you will follow in the same footsteps that they have walked in if you’re going to capture their anointing. Elisha followed Elijah to Gilgal (a wheel rolling), Bethel (house of God) and to Jericho (its moon, Jericho is a very fertile land). I like the symbolism of the three destinations Elisha followed Elijah to. When you put the meaning of the three names together, it says that Elijah and Elisha we’re rolling along to the house of God which is in a fertile land that shines like the moon.

I can’t stress enough that you have to know for certain, beyond any doubt, that you’ve heard God before sacrificing your livelihood, or you could end up with nothing.  All you will have accomplished is getting rid of your income, your possessions, your witness and quite possibly leading to anger with God because your expectations weren’t met. If you give away your things without God specifically telling you to, all you end up with is nothing and there’s no reward for that. Don’t be foolish with the things God has provided for you.

God doesn’t ask everyone to quit their jobs and move to the unknown. Often when someone gets saved, the first thing they want to do is quit their job and become a witness to the world. How about becoming a witness for God where you are currently before going out into the world? God requires us to follow Him with our hearts and to take up our cross daily where we are presently appointed regardless of what He has in His plan for our lives and futures.

You can’t think God told you to move, you have to know He told you to move and have multiple confirmations if necessary. It is a very Holy thing to God and if you take it lightly you will surely be in for a let down. Knowing God had directed you to move doesn’t mean it will be easy. In fact, to follow God where He leads you is a very difficult thing to do. Be certain that to take this step, it will be filled of trials, unknowns and darkness.  Fear will tear away at your faith, so that is why you must know without question that God has told you to move. The verse below says because I have heard what you said it illuminates my walk and lights up my path in the darkness of the unknown. God allows you only to see so far and no more at anyone time.

Thy word (speech, word, speaking)[is] a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:105

And I close with this…Know that if God is in it with you then you’re anointed to perform what He has required you to do. Stand in your faith, don’t waver, no matter how hard the times are, or how long they last, for with God all things come in seasons. You will get you life back…eventually!

    Hear God!!!!!

  • In the Silence

“His winnowing fork is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clear His threshing floor; and He will gather His wheat into the barn, but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” Matthew 3:12

SilenceIn silence the Lord speaks once to His close ones and they acknowledge His words; for they are appointed as carriers of the Good News to those who have ears to hear.  Support those who faithfully serve Me, who are tried and true and unwavering to the Faith. Minuscule portions will not perpetuate the gospel beyond the border of your habitations. Limitless finances are in store for the real ones. Those who know of only My purposes and plans. Who do not think of themselves or do they insist on being out front under the glow of the lights.

It is in the silence that I seek out the hearts of the humble and give fresh oil each day to illuminate their path. I give hope unto the meek in spirit for their ways give them access to all of My Kingdom. Unless My people turn back to Me and find themselves on their knees before Me they will not be able to sustain themselves in the days and years ahead. For truly I tell you that meager times lay ahead for mankind.  As I have spoken by My servants the prophets, the wheat will be cast out and rejected for the chaff hasn’t been separated and it is of no use to Me.

The Lord asks you to turn back to Me and humble yourselves at My feet and I will lift you up and wipe away those soon to be tears which will stream down your face. I will place My hand upon you again and blow a refreshing breath upon you and your ministry; but only if you will bow unto Me in true humility and become as a child once more.

Decide today what course you will choose, for one leads to sure demise and the other to eternal rewards. Now drop what you are doing for yourself and come and follow Me.

    Scripture Reference:

How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers! But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree {firmly} planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers. The wicked are not so, But they are like chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the wicked will perish. Psa. 1: 1-6

“I will winnow them with a winnowing fork At the gates of the land; I will bereave {them} of children, I will destroy My people; They did not repent of their ways. Jer. 15:7

“For behold, the day is coming, burning like a furnace; and all the arrogant and every evildoer will be chaff; and the day that is coming will set them ablaze,” says the LORD of hosts, “so that it will leave them neither root nor branch.” Mal. 4:1

“Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every {branch} that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit. John 15:2

Of the wheat and tares growing together:

‘Allow both to grow together until the harvest; and in the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather up the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them up; but gather the wheat into my barn.'”” Mat. 13:30

  • When God Tells You To Go

Today is September 26, 2008, exactly five years since I resigned my position with a communication company in Dallas, Texas. In June of 2005, the Lord gave me a dream and the dream forevehandr changed the course of my walk with the Lord.

    Dream:

I was sitting in my office at work when an angel came and stood looking over the high cubicle wall. He was tall but had no facial features other than a green Gumby-looking shaped head. The angel was wearing a green blazer; I could see that he had another green blazer in his left hand and draped over his left shoulder.

The angel said, “It’s time to go!” I said, “Am I being fired?” The angel said, “It’s time to go!” I said, “What about all my stuff?” He said, “You don’t need that anymore.” I got up from my desk, walked down a long hallway with the angel to my left.  I was staring at the blazer knowing that it represented a mantel. This was the same long hallway that security walked employees out as they were being laid off.  The angel escorted me out the door and the dream ended.

My wife and I knew this dream confirmed other words and dreams we had received from Holy Spirit, that we were to quit our jobs and move back home to where we are currently living.

trailWe both had great paying jobs.  We owned a five bedroom home with a three car garage situated on a lake in a very quiet and secluded area in the city. It would seem like allot to give up but we just wanted to follow God’s plan for our lives no matter what we had to give up.  I knew I had to pursue Him in this journey to obtain the mantel.

We put our home on the market and waited for it to sell. We waited and waited but nothing came of it. As September rolled around I re-read a prophecy that a man of God had given me; it said that if we would step out in faith, God would come in behind us like never before. Therefore, even without our home being sold, we decided to jump out in faith.  No matter how much faith we had or how clearly we had heard God’s word to us, the house payments keep coming in month after month.

On September, 26, 2005 I left my job, my work place ministry, some friends, our beloved home, church, city, lifestyle and everything that we loved in order to follow Him. God doesn’t ask everyone to follow this path, because few are willing to go the far with Him. It takes an extreme measure of faith and the honor of God to follow Him wherever He asks us to go.

Before moving to our new location we had been supernaturally yoked with our new Pastors. They shared many accounts where they had left great wealth, homes and cities to go where He had asked them. It truly helped to strengthen our faith and resolve because it seemed to us that they had been through much worse than what we were facing.  Read Elisha Followed Elijah…

desertJust as Elisha followed Elijah through hard places, when you’re truly yoked with a ministry, you may find that you go through many of the same things they went through. Elisha followed Elijah to Gilgal, Bethel, Jericho and finally to Jordan.

The word Gilgal actually means “rolling away our reproach,” Bethel means, “making our approach to God, Jericho and fighting the battle for God” and Jordan means, “entering into death in Christ.”

This is the path you will certainly take if you’re going to follow God’s plan for your life. We lived for four years and eleven months on some savings we had tucked away and virtually no other income what-so-ever, and our house didn’t sell for nineteen months!  We were living for God and pursuing Him with everything in us while still making large house payments during those months.  God did sustain us through it all and spiritually we have been transformed in so many ways that we hardly really relate to our old selves while back in “Egypt.”

dry groundMy advice to anyone who believes they are to move or to do something for God, is being totally sure and unequivocally confident that you have heard God in the matter and not just in your soul. I believe a key that is often neglected in following God’s plan, is the failure to journal their dreams, their visions and the words they hear from the Father.  It’s impossible to remember in detail everything you are hearing and seeing to any great degree. In fact, if you will be faithful to journal, God will give you more and more things because you are honoring Him and listening carefully to Him. Perhaps journaling will be the subject of one of my blogs in the future.

Now, both my wife and myself are employed, we’re actually working together for an awesome company, with an awesome boss in work place ministry.  We mentor drug and alcohol addicts with love and the word of God.  We now have regular income once again and are we’re beginning to get our life back, but we’re different, so different!

We look back on our five years in the wilderness as a holy and precious time with God.  He led us through a slow death in Him yet at the same time a new life in Christ.

God is faithful! If you will continue to be faithful to Him and to His house, He will prove Himself faithful to you and your house!

Go and be blessed in Him,

    Bro. Bill
