The Enticement

Title:  The Enticement
Dream
Date: 6/16/12

fifty dollarsI was walking down a big city street, which had a large building made of stone, with tall columns and steps which spanned the width of the building. A lady dressed in black came down the steps and said to me as I walked past, “How would you like a fifty dollar bill for free?” Then she stuck a folded “fifty” in my back right pocket. I immediately pulled it out and held it up in front of me to look at it. She said, “It’s free and won’t cost you a thing.” I wasn’t fooled because I knew her game. I had seen it before.

Then she showed me four beautiful young women sitting in a row just to her side. There was a blonde, brunette, redhead and one with black hair. She said, “You can have anyone of them you want and it won’t cost you a thing.” Then she handed me a brochure with their pictures and bio information of each one of them. I noticed in the bio under the blonde’s picture had her nationality as Arabian. She said, “Have you ever had an Arabian woman?” She was beautiful and I felt a fleshly thought come into my mind, “Wow, I could have an Arabian woman.” Then I came to my senses, “A blonde Arabian?” I thought to myself. How more false can it get than that?

I still held the fifty dollar bill and she said it was mine and it wouldn’t cost me a thing. There is an old street saying that says. “Never play another man’s game.” I looked down the street in the direction I was headed and knew if I kept the fifty and tried to slip away with her money that she had people in waiting take back the money and rough me up as much as necessary.

Then I was shown a vision in the dream of four trees growing up together. As they grew they were competing for space to see who could become the biggest of the group. It was painful to watch as each tree pushed on the other trees like goats trying to see which one can be on the top of the mound. The struggle went on for some time before one tree finally prevailed over the other three.

I handed the money back to her and said, “No thanks.” I could tell the woman’s feelings were hurt and then I saw the tallest tree of the bunch began to cry. Water flowed like a spring from the top of it, down its leaves onto the smaller trees. I asked the Lord, “What’s wrong with a tree crying?” He said, “Watch.”  As I watched, the tears from the tallest tree turned an ugly brown as it flowed down over the other three trees. I began to weep in my spirit as I walked away with such a saddened heart.

End of Entry –

Meaning: I awoke immediately after the dream ended and lay quietly in bed seeking understanding from the Lord as to the meaning of the dream. Then he showed me a vision of a largest church in a city, which had a promotion in the park starting on the same day of this dream.

The event was advertised as one of the largest of its kind and offered activities for people of all ages. The ad offered families the opportunity to experience some things they may never have the opportunity to enjoy otherwise and it was FREE.

IPalm Trees and Blue Skyt is the classic “Love with a hook.” Their actions appear to be someone doing something for you at no cost, were actually them doing something for their self. They wanted to use this event as an enticement in order to grow their church attendance. The event was created and promoted to rise above the other churches in the city and motivated by self-serving interest. Although they would defend their actions as doing it for the people, God, and serving their church, it was spirit driven, but it is not of God, because of the motive behind it. It was driven by self.

Churches, just like businesses have used all manner of enticements to get new blood in the doors to grow their numbers. Businesses and churches plan a “special” event to create a buzz in order to get people excited so they will tell others about what they experienced. Some of the special events include: celebrity speakers, famous authors, drawing for big prizes like trips or big screen TVs, signage on billboards, postcards, flyers, online newsletter, creative website, establish contacts with businesses or colleges and do lunch together with the employees or students. Create special events such a night projection on large buildings, referral incentive program, contest, streaming services online, clever quotes on sign out front, have the greatest worship team in town, and Super Bowl parties

Some of the more traditional promotions are bus ministry, Sunday school, vacation Bible school, Christian school, and church day care.

Have you ever attending a “How to grow the church” planning meetings? Have you ever been involved in setting up events like the ones listed above? What was your real motive to do so? Was it successful? Did you see an increase in numbers? Does watching other churches to put on events motivate jealously in your heart? Are you in direct competition with other churches in your city?

In the dream I was offered the beautiful blonde who was advertised as an Arabian woman, but she was not Arabian whatsoever. The blonde woman represented spiritual Egypt and she is driven by one thing and that is the desire of the flesh and all its lust. In life, a person has to choose between spiritual Egypt and all that it offers for the flesh and the lust thereof or seek out the things of God. When Jesus told His disciples to come and follow Him it was to lead them out of spiritual Egypt just as Moses led out the Hebrew nation from natural Egypt. Spiritual Egypt is in the world and found its way into the church many centuries ago.

“Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.” Gal. 5:20-21

In the vision the largest tree began to cry when I turned down the woman’s offerings. As the tears flowed from out of the top of the tallest tree, the water turned an ugly brown color, which represents a polluting, corrupting, and carnally minded spirit. The same corrupted spirit that is at the head flowed down onto the lesser trees, destroying their natural beauty as well.

Spiritual Babylon is described best as all that is carnally minded. It is mankind exalting himself above the things of God, and doing what he thinks is right. Spiritual Egypt and Babylon began to influence early Christians causing division and dissension among the community of believers, eventually it evolved over the many centuries to this thing called church today. The church organization today is a counterfeit of what Christ implemented by Holy Spirit.

sea foam smlWe are led to believe that being in right standing with a church organization is the same as being in right standing with Christ. Man has merged the two together and compelled others to believe that it is Christ’s will for them to join in with them in their spiritual adultery. People are led to believe that serving in the church organization is the same as serving Christ. When men ascended to power over other believers, by creating the clergy system they took for themselves titles like bishop, established a hierarchy of administration, and promoted their interest over God’s. Today, you will find organizational charts in churches just like it common in corporations. It is the Babylonian spirit and there are many forms of that spirit.

Ignatius the third pastor at Antioch created this doctrine cementing the power structure of the Clergy paradigm that is in the Church today.

“Follow your bishop, every one of you, as obediently as Jesus Christ followed the Father. Obey your Clergy too, as you would the Apostles; give your deacons the same reverence that you would to a command from God.  Make sure no step affecting the Church is ever taken by anyone without the bishop’s sanction. The sole Eucharist you should consider valid is one that is celebrated by the bishop himself, or by some person authorized by him. Where the bishop is to be seen, there let all his people be; just as wherever Jesus Christ is present, we have the Catholic Church. Nor is it permissible to conduct baptism, or the Eucharist without the bishop. On the other hand, whoever does have this sanction can be sure of God’s approval too. This is the way to make certain of soundness, and validity of anything you do.”

In the dream the woman offered free money, but nothing is for free. There’s always a hook. On the surface everything seemed innocent enough, but I had experienced the deception first hand for myself.

A few years ago when I was going about my day, suddenly I knew I had an audience with the Father. I quickly grabbed my pen and tablet and sat down in His presence. I began with one question, which led to asking five. As I inquired of the Father about a particular church in the area which had tried every scheme known to man to grow church membership without any success.
Five Questions I asked the Lord

Q1. Why doesn’t this church grow?
A1. Because they want it to grow.

Q2. What’s wrong with that?
A2. It’s their vision not mine.

Q3. The early church grew and increased?
A3. As I added members.

Q4. Why then do some churches grow and other don’t?
A4. It’s not about growth. It’s about the Kingdom. Each church has a different assignment and the motives behind the pulpit must be 100% for My things and not things, not numbers, or anything that man can say, “This is a successful ministry because of a building or pews filled”. What are they doing with the people in the pews, warehousing them? Corralling them as their sheep to control while they feed themselves and starve My sheep? It is not My way and a day of judgment awaits for those evil, sluggard, selfish shepherds.

Q5. How does leadership change their mind set?
A5. Give up control to Me. Find their true place in My heart and allow My heart to reign in their lives.

In most cases what I have spoken about applies to the church system. In some case the hearts of the people are true for God and its about what’s in the heart. However, just because we can do something doesn’t mean we should do it. We should always honestly ask our self why I want to do a certain thing. We should lay our ideas on the altar before God and allow Him to lead us in the things pertaining to ministry. We should always allow God to show us the vision of what He wants the ministry to look like. We must always lay down the idols in our heart before pursuing answers from God. If not, you will simply hear what you want to hear.

We are living in the time where Jesus Christ is calling out His bride from spiritual Babylon and to leave the riches of Egypt and choose to follow Him. The plumbline is laid. Come out of her or suffer her plagues. Rev. 18:4

May You Be blessed in the Lord’s Favor,

Bro. Bill

Scripture References:

Alexander the coppersmith did me much harm; the Lord will repay him according to his deeds. Be on guard against him yourself, for he vigorously opposed our teaching. 2 Tim 4:14-15

“I wrote something to the church; but Diotrephes, who loves to be first among them, does not accept what we say. For this reason, if I come, I will call attention to his deeds which he does, unjustly accusing us with wicked words; and not satisfied with this, he himself does not receive the brethren, either, and he forbids those who desire to do so and puts them out of the church.” 3 JN 1:9-10

“For certain persons have crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn the grace of our God into licentiousness and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ. But these men revile the things which they do not understand; and the things which they know by instinct, like unreasoning animals, by these things they are destroyed. Woe to them! For they have gone the way of Cain, and for pay they have rushed headlong into the error of Balaam, and perished in the rebellion of Korah. These are the men who are hidden reefs in your love feasts when they feast with you without fear, caring for themselves; clouds without water, carried along by winds; autumn trees without fruit, doubly dead, uprooted; wild waves of the sea, casting up their own shame like foam; wandering stars, for whom the black darkness has been reserved forever. It was also about these men that Enoch, in the seventh generation from Adam, prophesied, saying, “Behold, the Lord came with many thousands of His holy ones, to execute judgment upon all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their ungodly deeds which they have done in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.” These are grumblers, finding fault, following after their own lusts; they speak arrogantly, flattering people for the sake of gaining an advantage. But you, beloved, ought to remember the words that were spoken beforehand by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, that they were saying to you, “In the last time there will be mockers, following after their own ungodly lusts.” These are the ones who cause divisions, worldly-minded, devoid of the Spirit.” Jude 1:4, 10-19

“Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and spoke with me, saying, “Come here, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters, with whom the kings of the earth committed acts of immorality, and those who dwell on the earth were made drunk with the wine of her immorality. And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness; and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast, full of blasphemous names, having seven heads and ten horns. The woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a gold cup full of abominations and of the unclean things of her immorality, and on her forehead a name was written, a mystery, “BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.” And I saw the woman drunk with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus. When I saw her, I wondered greatly. Rev. 17:1-5
