HYPE – Epidemic In Churches

This dream was given to me some time ago and now it’s time to bring it forward.

Date: 10/15/2012

hypeI listened to part of the pastor’s sermon and afterwards I walked up to him and said, “Some of what I heard was interesting.” He responded, “Wow that was deep! The Spirit was really moving!” I had not sensed any of that. It was all hype. Then, I said to the pastor, “When has your church been swept?” He said, “It’s been awhile.” As I walked through the crowd of people it was if they didn’t see me. They would walk right into my path and I had to step aside each time to let them pass by. I was hungry so I walked to the back of the building to the church’s cafeteria. I looked for a bowl but could not find one anywhere. I saw a man who had brought his bowl from home. No one else had a bowl. I thought to myself a person could starve to death in this place. This church has thousands of members but there’s nothing to eat here. They are hungry!

– End

The pastor’s message had some interesting things in it but it didn’t provide any nourishment to the listener’s soul. In a spiritual sense our words are either anointed and edify or they are not anointed and drain life from the listener. The people in the church were hungry but there was no good food being served. The problem in this church’s message and many others is best explained by comparing it to the different food types. There are basically two categories of food; nutritional food and non-nutritional food. Nutritional food provide the body with nourishment, and contain low calories, low in fat and sugar, with high levels of protein, vitamins and minerals, which help us maintain a healthy robust life style.  Non-nutritional food, also known as junk foods, offer little nutritional value and are high in calories, fat, and sugars, and low in protein, vitamins and minerals. The preacher sermon fit into the junk food category. Read  http://seerofgod.com/sunday-morning-church-visit-part-one/

A bowl can represent a vessel, person; determination or resolve; form of truth. Since there wasn’t any food (truth) being served in the sermon there wasn’t a need to have bowls. The one man who had a bowl (truth) brought it from home for He had spent a lot of time with God sanctifying his own vessel. I asked the pastor when had his church been swept and his response was that it had been awhile. It had a lot of trash in it which everyone had got used to being in. Jesus came went into the temple and drove out the money changers and declared His house is a house of prayer.

“3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification; that is, that you abstain from sexual immorality; 4 that each of you know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, 5 not in lustful passion, like the Gentiles who do not know God…”1 Thes. 4:3-5

The pastor was the orator and the master of ceremony (MC) of hype. The preacher like to tell the people Holy Spirit was moving as he delivered his sermons. He preached good as he sought the congregations “Amen’s.” He raised his hand and said, “I am preaching better than you are amening!” His sermons had little or no nutritional spiritual value although it left the listeners feeling good (tickled their ears) the people were spiritually hungry. Good preaching doesn’t mean it’s an anointed. Jesus never used hype, so why is there so much of it spoken by ministers today?

Hype: to stimulate, excite, trick, hoopla, swindle, deceive

stop hype 2Where there is hype the anointing is absent. Where there is the anointing you won’t need hype. You can’t have both!

“Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump of dough?” 1 Cor. 5:6

Hype is leaven! It isn’t acceptable to God no matter how you use it. Speakers sometimes use words to stimulate, excite, trick, swindle, deceive or create hoopla, which is hype. Does that sound like something Holy Spirit would be a part of? “But I’m just so excited about what Jesus is doing!” Then demonstrate your works by the power of the anointing. As John the Baptist said, “I must decrease and Christ must increase.”

Paul said. “for our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction; just as you know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake.” 1 Thes. 1:5

In the dream I was invisible. I was seeing what was going on in the church by God. In past years, I was given dreams about this church and the common theme was always how phony it was. Much effort and money had gone into creating the big fake façade, both inside and out. However, God’s interest is in building up people in Jesus Christ by making them His disciples, not ours or to a religion.

Scientist recently discovered that fast foods (junk foods) are specifically designed to stimulate your appetite, so a person will eat more of it. The more you eat, the more you want. How many times have you heard someone say that they could eat the whole bag of chips by themselves?

Hype Alarm

Hype phrases fall down on the people like confetti upon the people after winning a world championship. They drop out of the air like the end of the Super Bowl game celebration. These phrases below are examples where the emphasis is for a person to join something rather than become something in Christ.

Examples of Hype Alert Phrases:

  • We’re family here.
  • You can get what we have anywhere else.
  • Be a part of something special.
  •  Be a part of something LIVE!
  • We have the best leadership up on this stage anywhere.
  • We’re here to serve you!
  •  Get involved, serve!
  •  Get connected!
  •  It’s life-changing here!

The Spirit of God revealed the spiritual state of the seven churches in Revelation 2 &3. Each church was found lacking in one area or the other. The message to the churches then was “You Have Forgot Your First Love.”  The message now is the same. “Have you have forgot your first love!” It’s time for all believers to bow before God and cry out to Him to purge, purify and refine us.

“Some of those who have insight will fall, in order to refine, purge and make them pure until the end time; because it is still to come at the appointed time.” Daniel 11:35

It’s about RELATIONSHIP with GOD! He is at the door KNOCKING! But will you open the door to Christ?

Bro. Bill

    1. It is the truth. The bible is clear that there will be many false prophets in the last days rising up. Technology has allowed them to creep into many homes and hearts through internet television and radio. And there are many itching ears that are perked up finding the comfort junk food that their souls desire. The true meat and that endures and the true living water to nurture and strengthen us is the non watered down full gospel of the written word and in the living word. Jesus Christ our Lord. I’ve been a leader in small and mega ministries. And I have been asked to preach in them and I have accepted in the past. There is very little tolerance for the pure word. And there’s a lot of hype. There is a hunger and a thirst for righteousness and there are many souls who will come to Christ and truly be saved. And there are many hungry Christians who will rise up and be fed the proper diet of Gods pure word. God will raise up and has raised up Pastors who will feed his people. Jeremiah 3:15 And In will give you pastors according to my heart, which will feed you with knowledge and understanding.
These mega hyper pipers and false (profits) are being exposed by their own doing. God is not mocked. They are weak and they are now running out of air. Money and fame is dangerouscwhen you love it, and they do. They have lost the fire and power of God If They ever had it. God will bring revival and it only takes one faithful saint of God to put ten thousand of Gods enemies to flight. The saducees and Pharisees thought to be and proclaimed to be Gods representatives and church. Jesus rebuked them and called them children of the their father the devil.
Hold onto Jesus church, hold onto his word.
Hope not hype. Faith not flash. John 14:6
      God speed.
      Evangelist: Ventura Chavez

    2. I came across this website tonight because I am always watching and preparing myself to what is to come before the LORD Jesus (World Economy, govt, religious system in motion and the anti-messiah comes first when things get so bad people will accept him just to get some relief. I am so thankful he woke me up to all kinds of things as giving me a brain to think with, access to the truth with ease, and a voice to tell what I feel the body of Jesus needs to know. The goal is to save as many souls as you can for the Kingdom of Heaven. Planting seeds by spreading the truth and exposing the darkness in the world so people with be drawn to light is what WE Jesus Lovers need to do. There is no time to sugar coat the word. Lots of people turn a deaf ear to it and use the “politics and religion” are sensitive subjects and do not want to talk about The LORD our creator and real important information. I lost several friends to my talking about The Lord. ha ha I said, “You could never talk about God too much!!” I love this website. It has given me confirmation on what the Holy Spirit has been putting on my heart. I rarely sign up for stuff to comment but we need to be healing the sick, making the lame walk, making the deaf hear, blind to see and even raising the dead back to life IN JESUS NAME.Jesus gave us supernatural power and rarely do his children utilize it. I have not had a encounter with the Lord yet but the more I reach to him, I know it can happen. All starts with FAITH. We need to prepare the Bride and get away the feel good stuff and being tolerant of what society is accepting. We are in last days and people call me negative over it but duty and everyone that knows needs to ring the alarm and fight the good fight bc you don’t want people’s blood on your hands. God Bless you all who read this with LOVE and STRENGTH!!!

    3. The Lord is so very good to us.I am glad that you shared your dream with us.It is very disturbing to me to see so much of this in the churches. You are not alone Brother Bill. The Lord has powerful words to say doesnt he…

    4. Hype. Ugh. My #1 reason for removing myself from organized religion. It grieves me to hear and see so much pretending to feel and hear Holy Spirit when He is not always moving. When He moves, it’s real and no hype is needed. Hype is to make people think something is effective and successful when it isn’t. Blah
