When Evil Comes Knocking

When Evil Comes Knocking
Dream
Date: 9/8/2016l

In the first scene of the dream, I saw a man in his 30’s standing in our front yard near the walkway to our front porch. I heard the Father speak his name out loud to me. I clearly heard the man’s name but as the dream progressed, his name faded away. His first name was Jay or Jeff and his last name was five or six letters like Stone or Sloan. He had medium length sandy brown hair and was of medium build. Then the Lord said, “He has murder in his heart and he wants to kill Ms. Smith, which lives across the street from our home. Then the man came and knocked on our door but we didn’t answer. Then he turned and went over to Ms. Smith’s house and knocked on her door.

The scene changed and I looked out from the window of our home across the street and there was an ambulance out front and police cars in front of the house across the street where Ms. Smith’s lives. The EMT people were pushing a gurney from around the back of the house through the side yard towards the ambulance parked on the street. There was a sheet covered body lying on the gurney.  I immediately awoke and began interceding for our neighbor. At the time we were out-of-town and wouldn’t be back for several more days.

9/10 – The imagery and message of peril in the dream did not leave me during these long, endless days away from out home. Once we returned home, and at the proper time, I shared the dream with my wife. We prayed for neighbor’s safety as well as our on. Later, that same day, I saw our neighbor working in her front yard. I approached her and we were having a casual conversation and she mentioned that while we had been gone she had noticed a small group of men at the end of the block just standing around. It seemed odd to here as she hadn’t seen anything like that before in here 37 years of living in her home. I took that as my lead-in and shared part of the dream to her about the threat that I saw our neighborhood in the warning dream from the Lord. I didn’t mention that she was the object of the attack and what the man wanted to do to her. I couldn’t see where that would benefit her in any way. She received the dream warning and we talked a bit more and I bid her well and went back home.

9/11 (The next day) – Around 2:25 P.M. a man came and knocked on our front door. I was in the back of the house and didn’t hear the knocking, but Jae, my wife Jae did. She was up upstairs at the time. She looked out the front upstairs window to see who was knocking and saw the very man I had described the dream. She didn’t come downstairs to answer the door. She saw the man standing in our walkway. He looked confused as what to do. Then he turned towards our neighbor’s house which is directly across the street and headed over there. Jae got on the phone and urgently called Ms. Smith but got the answering machine’s voice prompt. Jae was emphatically said, “Don’t answer the door, don’t answer door.  Jae’s heart raced with every word. The man knocked repeatedly on Ms. Smith’s front door but got no answer, so he walked off the porch, out the gate and went on down the street. We haven’t seen him since.

The next day our neighbor came over to visit, but really too asked about the voice message my wife had left. She wanted to know what “Don’t answer the door” was all about. We shared what had happened the day before and she told us that her son had come and picked her up and took her to his home for the day. Such relief came to us knowing that she was safe from the evil threat. The threat had come and passed and we knew it was over. Glory to God!

Commentary:

God protects us if we listen to Him and are obedient to the message. I can say that from my experience that every time that I ignored the promptings of the Lord, things didn’t turn out so well.  Our heavenly Father takes great care of His own. He sees the danger ahead and warns us of things to come.

Do you trust Him with your life?

Psalm 91

1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
My God, in whom I trust!”
For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper
And from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with His pinions,
And under His wings you may seek refuge;
His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark.

Blessing of Protection and Peace to You!
