Christ’s Church Up On Blocks
Journal Entry: 5/17/11
Vision – Christ Church
During morning quiet time I saw a vision of a small car running along real good until it high centered upon a block of wood. The back wheels were spinning away but the car wasn't going anywhere. The occupants didn't seem to notice that no forward progress was being made whatsoever. Then the Lord impressed upon me that the block of wood represents man's religious doctrines and how it high centered the church which Christ built.
End of vision
Early on even in the days of the apostles many of Christ's doctrines were being shed in favor of pagan teachings and traditions.
'For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths. 2 Tim. 4:3-4
Jesus told the scribes and Pharisees, ""But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you shut off the kingdom of heaven from people; for you do not enter in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in. Matt 23:13
In the book of Jude records the effect of man's doctrine upon the body of Christ which denied Jesus as Master and Lord and His grace was replaced with performance and works.
"For certain persons have crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn the grace of our God into licentiousness and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ." Jude 1:4
The ones who over the many centuries, beginning at the end of the first century, replaced Christ's teachings with their own and began to take control of the people at the same time hiding behind the appearance of Godliness just like the scribes and Pharisees did. Jude described them as;
"hidden reefs in your love feast when they feast with you without fear, caring for themselves, clouds without water, carried along by winds; autumn trees without fruit, double dead, uprooted; wild waves of the sea, casting up their own shame like foam; wandering stars, for whom the black darkness has been reserved forever. Jude 12-13
These men are in impersonators since they assume the character or appearance of a godly man but are especially fraudulently in their motives. As Jude 12 says, "caring for themselves, clouds without water." If you ever been in a drought and experienced a cloud develop and begin to thunder, produce lightning and some wind but no rain then you know what the Lord was describing in the book of Jude. Many ministers talk the talk but in their hearts they don't walk the walk.
Today, many in the church system are teach to watch for the "apostasy" to come firs,t as if it is a future event, and then the anti-christ soon follows. When in fact if you carefully study the history of the early church it is clear that the great falling away began to occur at the end of the first century when the apostles passed away.
